Robert Budi Hartono
Robert Budi Hartono or whose real
name Oei Hwie Tjhong , ( born in Semarang , 28 April 1940 ; age 74 years ) is
an Indonesian businessman . He was the second son of the founder of the company
Djarum Oei Wie Gwan . Robert is a Chinese - Indonesian descent . His older
brother named Michael Bambang Hartono alias Hwie Oei Siang . Total wealth
Robert in 2012 was recorded by Forbes at US $ 6.5 billion, placing it as
the 146th richest person in the world and the richest one in Indonesia.
Besides
Djarum , Robert and Michael is the largest shareholder in Bank Central Asia (
BCA ) . They both through Farindo Holding Ltd. controls 51 % stake in BCA . In
addition , they also have oil palm plantations covering 65,000 hectares in West
Kalimantan since 2008 , as well as a number of property owners among them Grand
Indonesia and electronics companies. One of the Djarum Group businesses in this
sector moves under the banner Polytron which has operating for more than 30
years . Polytron company is now also producing phones that were previously only
producing air conditioning, refrigerator , video and audio products , and
dispensers . Through the newly created company namely Ventures Global Digital
Prima , they also bought Kaskus , the most popular of Indonesia sites.
Robert
Budi Hartono married a woman named Widowati Hartono or more familiar with the
name Giok Hartono . With her, the owner of PT Djarum has three sons, all of them
have completed education. They are Victor Hartono , Martin Hartono , and Armand
Hartono . Robert very fond of badminton which stems from hobby and PB
Djarum founded in 1969. One of the badminton players who came from PB Djarum is
Liem Swie King , which is known by the nickname " King Smash " .
