Martha Tilaar - There isn’t word “impossible”

Do you know who is she ?

Yes. She is Martha Tilaar who is a succesful businesswoman, not only in local area but also in international. Now her cosmetic group is predicated as the market leader of cosmetic industries in our country. We can find about her success story in many books, television and also magazines. She is an inspired Indonesian woman with all of her story and struggle.

Martha Tilaar was born on September 4th, 1937 in Kebumen. When she was a kid, she had been interested in all about cosmetic. Then, when she grown (grew) up, she was married with H.A.R Tilaar who is a rich man. Then she went to Holland to follow her husband and continued her study there.

Starting from there, she began her business and built a small beauty salon in America. When she came back to Indonesia, she built a salon in her father’s garage. By collaborating with PT Kalbe Farma, she created some creative product. And finally she could build her own business without cooperating with PT Kalbe Farma. She made her own group namely Martha Tilaar Group. She has worked really hard in innovating her product. Now, not only as the big cosmetic company,  but her group also has had some acquisitions with other companies such as PT Tiara Permata, Aromatic Oil Of Java Martha Tilaar, Dewi Sri Spa Martha Tilaar, Biokos Martha Tilaar, Belia Martha Tilaar, Berto Martha Tilaar, and Jamu Garden Martha Tilaar.

Being a succesful businesswoman with high profit doesn’t make her greedy. Martha Tilaar always give(s) many contributions by helping Indonesian women to be more creative and sufficient. Moreover, 70% of her total employers (employees) are women. That’s why I’m very respectful to her. I still remember a message from her that we should be focus in one field which we have choosen and don’t give up to reach it. There isn’t word “impossible” if we believe and struggle. Someday, that’s all as the proof of journey in reaching success for our life.
