DAHLAN ISKAN
Dahlan Iskan is one of the figures inspiration for me. Why? Because he comes
from a similar background same with me
(those who are less capable in terms of the economy), but he could be great as
it is now. It always makes me spirit for
learn and achieve my dreams.
Behind the figures, I read the stories of his
life journey. And I also read an interesting story behind the birth. In the
biography of his official website, I read, that he decided for himself, when his
birthday. Why is that? Because as a child his father wrote all date of born his
children behind the cupboard. But, for eat everyday, The only one of cupboard had
be sold and went with all records, including records Dahlan Iskan date of birth in behind the
cupboard. Finally, Dahlan Iskan decided on August 17 as his birthday. Because
that date is easy to remember, and it same as
Indonesia’s Independence day .
The childhood of Dahlan, makes learning how
to be able to change the fate. First career, Dahlan Iskan be candidates
reporter Harian Mimbar Masyarakat in Samarinda .
In 1976, he became a journalist magazine Tempo. Dahlan Iskan popular after he
was made exclusive coverage of losses Tampomas II. In 1982, Dahlan Iskan was
believed to lead the Jawa Pos newspaper purchased by Eric Samola (President
Director of PT Grafiti Press, publisher of Tempo). The first name papers was
“Java Post” that later became “Djawa Post” and eventually became “Jawa Pos”. In
the five years (1982-1987), Dahlan Iskan has made spectacular Jawa Pos
newspaper with a circulation of 126,000 copies and its annual turnover soared
to $ 10.6 billion, or 20 times that of the turnover in the first year (1982).
This is extraordinary of succesful by Dahlan Iskan.
All of journey his career, brought him become a great
man, a successful entrepreneur, and inspiring of figures now. He is hardworking person. This makes
me admire him, and I was more excited to continue and to organize my future.
Starting from myself, from the smallest things, and from now.
